I love Studio Ghibli. They're sort of like the Pixar of Japan.... great movies that are usually with great soundtracks.

Ghibli studio is famous for bringing wonderful animated films...Totoro was a classic >o< I love that movie. i also enjoy spirited away and howl's moving castle too. The less heard of Ghibli films that I like were the cat's return and where the heart is. Those two were not as popular in the states but they were awesome films. Can't wait to see their new film The Borrower Arrietty one even if H. Miyazaki was not the director.

I really enjoyed princess momonoke, it was a little hard at the beggining but it gets really good. The characters, the backgrounds, the story is so compelling, the nature being destroyed by the development of the industry and the total disregard for the land, makes you look out the window and see this same thing happening everywhere. The only thing i didn't like was the ending, a little too good for me if -spoiler alert-

the forest didn't return to normal so quickly would been better, something like "after the mistakes we made, we have to take responsability" and then the people start planting seeds of trees to revive the forest or something like that.

Protest Song (to Silvio)

He fell mortally wounded from a slash to his guitar
But had enough time to get his best song from it’s cover
And shot his assassin with it
Who momentarily seemed shocked
Taking his fingers to the ears
And screaming
For someone to turn off the lights

Yep, totally agree - they're awesome. I was at the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo when I visited and that made their whole production so much better! Not all will like their storylines but for anime with certain messages they're all increcibly well done. Especially Spirited Away and Mononoke Hime.

I love all of the previous movies, but Ponyo just didn't do it for me. I mean, it's cute, but I wasn't to impressed.

studio ghibli especially miyazaki hayao is absolutely AWESOME. the art is unique and great. the stories are great. and the characters are great too. but i feel after howl's moving castle the rest of the movies aren't as great. they're still good but not great. though i haven't watched the most recent movie arrietty yet.

I like Ghibli productions, i watched most of them. My favourite are My Neighbor Totoro and Howl`s Moving Castle. I didn't like Kiki`s Delivery Service and Tales from Earthsea, i don't recoment them.

Studio Ghibli!!! Yes that has got to be my favourite animation studio. They have the most fantastical films and they are all so fascinating and captivating. I have watched Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaa: The Valley of the Wind, Grave of the Fireflies, Tales from Earthsea, Only Yesterday, Ocean Waves, Kiki's Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart.

And I'm quite looking forward to watch their newest one Arrietty.  Grin

My favorite Studio Ghibli films (of the ones I've seen) are:
Spirited Away
My Neighbor Totoro
Princess Monoke

Well all of them are good, so it's definitely worth it to take the time to watch them.

i love a lot of their movies - mononoke hime, howl's moving castle, nausicaa of the the valley of wind, spirited away...

but there have been misses, too, like earthsea.  Sad

still, it's hard to pick a favorite. probably mononoke, because i really like ashitaka and san, and eboshi is AMAZING. ...and the english dub of howl's moving castle purely because of how i melt every time i hear howl tell sophie she's beautiful. xD

Studio Ghibli works are absolutely fantastic. My all time favorite movie is Princess Mononoke, though I love all other movies too (maybe except ponyo >_>)
