I read a lot of hate for this movie, either because it was crappily adapted, or because some people view it as a hipster kind of movie, but I'm sorry, I saw something completely different. What I saw when I watched this movie was a comical blend of action, comics, and video games rolled into one badass movie. I highly anticipated this movie for the last 4 months and I can't wait 'til the DVD comes out. Granted, I want to read the books, but I don't want to be considered a fan just because of the movie.

Anyone else seen it? Gimme some opinions.

I thought it was awesome. It had nice animation and visual effects. I think most people who hated it didnt like the plot.

If you were watching the movie for plot, then yea, you may have been a little bored and irked, but if you were watching it for what it was meant to be watched for (i.e. the unique and endless heaps of humor at its own expense) then you would have enjoyed it a lot. It was not a movie meant to be taken seriously and never portrayed itself like that. Just pure amusement value.

IMHO the movie is great.
The story might be simple but the graphics made it very interesting.

I love SP! I haven't read the comics but I love the film. I kind of trust Edgar Wright to do the right thing in every project Smiley

It probably works best if you've read the comics before hand, but if you don't go in with particularly high expectations, it's a highly enjoyable movie even without knowledge of canon.

... kind of irked that he didn't end up with Knives in the movie, but I hear there's an alternate ending somewhere covering that.
