I saw "KICKASS" last weekend and loved it.  I'm curious to see what others thought.

According to imdb, "Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1250777/

I grew up reading comics, so it's only natural that I always wanted to be a superhero.  This movie did not disappoint Smiley

I really went in the movie theather with bad expectations. But hell was I proved wrong. This however is completly caused by hitgirl and her father. She is really awesome and the really make one of the funniest 'couples' I have ever seen in a movie.

Father: What do you want for your birthday.
Hitgirl: Hmm, I want a cute dog and make up kit.
Father: Really!?
Hitgirl: Haha, just kidding daddy, I want one of those new butterfly knives.
Father: Oh thank the gods!

I really lolled.

And of course the pun towards the spiderman movies: "with no power comes no responsibility"

Read the comics before going to the movie. Kinda like the comic's ending more though.

But the movie was awesome! EPIC!

This is one of the movies that I saw the preview and thought it had potential, but would end up being one of those movies that would ultimately drop the ball in the end. Everyone I've talked to that actually saw it really enjoyed it though....so I'll let myself get caught up in the hype and check it out, lol. I'll let you guys know what I think when I get around to it.

this was one of the few time i could say that even though ive read the comics i think the movie was quite good too, rather than the utter failure most other comic based movies are

This movie was definitely more than I expected. I mean, I understood the premise and I expected Kick-Ass to get beaten to prove he was just a kid in a costume, but the storyline was ripped away from him and it became Hit-Girl and Big Daddy, with Kick-Ass as the sidekick who saved Hit-Girl's ass. I enjoyed the movie and was glad that I went and saw it. Besides, who HASN'T always wanted a bazooka?
