I don't know what chapter in manga but I clearly rememebr it's in IL arc. When Ban is fighting Fudou then he felt Ginji transformed, Akabane wants to fight Gimji in his full Reitei strength, then they started fighting and Akabane started counting down. Ginji recovered when Ban went between them and was hit by Akabane's bloody sword which they thought was Ban's third usage of his evil eye for that day. Then Ban used the third evil eye to Makubex to save the day:)

I'm not sure if there are already threads like this here but anyway, since we're down to the last chapter, I think it's time to make a list of the things we love about GB. I'll go first

* Ban and Ginji - these characters are very well developed. I'm not really sure how to put it, but the two of them together is perfection. They compliment each other very well. Ban's wit and Ginji's softness plus Ban's softness over Ginji, I love everything about that.

* The science, myths, fantasy, politics and emotional substance - I think those are the reasons why I'm drawn to Aoki/Tadashi Agi's writing style. It's informative, obviously done with research. Although GB is mostly supernatural, there are explanations that will connect them to reality, like the electric eel in Ginji's power, the ancient Myth for Ban's, the animal DNA stuff for Shido etc. The details in the author's storytelling are beautiful and brilliant.

* The illustration - I love Ayamine's artwork. Ban, Ginji, Akabane, Himiko, Kagami, Kazuki, you'll recognize them in a crowd of other anime/manga characters. I think Aoki and Ayamine are like Ban and Ginji, they compliment each other very much which is why GB is one of the finest fiction I read. I hope they'll work together again, maybe they can continue Oniwaka to Ushiwaka, or do another project in similar genre.

Well these three are the things I love the most but I love pretty much everything about GB. It's sad that we're close to the last chapter but I'm glad it's wrapped up in a way that's not just decent, but beautiful. I hope the one shot side story will be scanlated too, if we're not asking too much

I have a friend who is making plushies and I ordered a pair of ban and ginji Akabane Hat and Jubei strings, bells, hair and the white shirt is really nice

So I'm a little confused with the incident with Kazuki's mother. I think one chapter said Kazuki's mother didn't want him to go to infinity fortress, and then another one, same flashback incident but this time, kazuki's mother wanted him to go to infinity fortress.

Rando Ayamine's notes at the end of some volumes makes me happy and I noticed the notes at the later chapters aren't translated. I know I'm asking too much but maybe we can have those scanned images with his notes in this thread and some of you guys can translate them? It's fine if you won't though just a thought

Now that you've mentioned it, yea I think No. 6 have different feel but they have the same ingredients. One thing I love about gb manga is the details of scifi (like electric eel for ginji's powers, the missing link, magenjou construction, alternate universes in divine design what not) they're not just product of pure imagination but also research and no. 6 has that, the neoroscience in safu's script. , the no. 6 city is pretty much like magenjou, the futuristic concept.  No. 6 city and magenjou's politics have similarities as well. then the friendship of sion to nezumi, though it's like implying more than friendship compared to gb. scifi/fantasy/friendship less romance, they're the same from my point of view.

bus gamer has three anime episodes. though it was just three, i enjoyed it so much

I started watching Ao no Exorcist and it's good so far. And then I found No. 6 and I think it was one of the best. too bad it has only 11 episodes. I think it's close to the get backers ingredients, friendship/scifi/fantasy less romance. I'm a huge scifi sucker and it's one of the reasons why I love gb manga over the anime. Anyway, another one is Bus Gamer, not scifi though, but one character looks like it was patterned to ginji, with yellow hair too. but the anime has only 3 ep. argh, it's like all the stuff I liked were short run series.

Area no Kishi (knight in the area) is a manga about football. the writer is the same as gb. It's pretty good. I like it. And I heard it will have an anime adaptation soon. Anyone reading it?

Do you know where I can read oniwaka and ushiwaka? I found the earlier chapters in mangafox but i guess they stopped scanning the rest
