1  The Honky Tonk Lounge / Getbackers Anime Discussion / Re: Was it Needed? on: May 08, 2010, 10:17:10 am
I enjoyed the anime for what it was--an adaption. Plus, it's lighter and more appropriate, so I can recommend it to friends easier.

4  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Anime Discussion / Re: List of recommended anime on: April 23, 2010, 03:16:55 pm
I haven't actually watched much anime lately--but I do highly recommend Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and El Cazador de la Bruja.

Naz: I'm from uh, New York? If that's what you meant. xD
6  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Manga Discussion / Re: GetBackers authors's new manga! on: April 23, 2010, 03:12:53 pm
Ooooh, this looks really good so far! So it's the same people behind Getbackers? They made a great team the first time, so I'm excited. 8D
7  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Anime Discussion / Re: Studio Ghibli on: April 23, 2010, 03:07:43 pm
For some reason, I haven't watched many of them, but every one I have seen, I've loved. I guess I just spent too much time IMing people to focus two hours on the TV screen. My favorite is probably My Neighbor Totoro.
8  Interests and Hobbies / Games / Pokemon on: April 23, 2010, 03:06:07 pm
I own every single handheld Pokemon game. I've been addicted since I was in kindergarten (so, about, 11 years). A lot of people think it's dorky, but I still think it's the best game series ever. I spent 150 hours on SoulSilver and I don't regret a single minute. I'm super-psyched for the new generation--Black and White! (check serebii.net for details!)

Who else embraces their inner dork with this game?
9  Interests and Hobbies / Games / Harvest Moon on: April 23, 2010, 03:04:25 pm
My second-favorite game series is Harvest Moon. I own all the games starting from Friend Of Mineral Town, except Tree of Tranquility (but I do own Animal Parade, in which I am trying to marry the Witch Princess). Does anyone else love and is addicted to this series?

Who knew farming could be so fun?
10  Interests and Hobbies / Music / Brand New on: April 23, 2010, 03:02:40 pm
So, I'm going to a concert of theirs next Wednesday, and I'm really excited. They're one of my favorite bands. I'm not too fond of their latest album, Daisy, but I loved their other two albums, Deja Entendu, and The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me. My favorite songs are Jesus Christ, Degausser, the Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot, and The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows.

Has anyone else heard of them?
11  Interests and Hobbies / TV and Movies / Re: Top Gear on BBC on: April 23, 2010, 02:58:42 pm
I have zero interest in cars.
Yet I adore this show.
I don't even know how this happened.
12  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Manga Discussion / Re: Rando Ayamine and his art style on: April 23, 2010, 02:57:43 pm
Personally, I prefer the art in 2005-2007. But I definitely agree he has improved. I'm just not a huge fan of his 2009 style for a series like this. It doesn't seem to fit.
13  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Manga Discussion / Re: Gene Simmons' Son Plagiarizing Bleach on: April 23, 2010, 02:55:16 pm
Jeez, that's stupid.

Funnily enough, I went to Anime Boston  a few weeks ago, and they were selling Incarnate, advertising it as "The manga that shook the world" or something dramatic, and showed a comparison of two panels.
14  The Honky Tonk Lounge / General Manga Discussion / Re: Post your Manga collection on: April 23, 2010, 02:47:56 pm
I have a ridiculous amount of manga, actually.

Jeez. This is what you get when all you buy for years is manga.
15  The Honky Tonk Lounge / Getbackers Manga Discussion / Re: Who here loves Japanese honorifics? on: April 23, 2010, 02:41:48 pm
Deefinitely keep them. I remember, my favorite part of the anime dub was when, in a next episode preview, Ginji finally called Ban, Ban-chan.
