Title: What are some of your favorite japanese MAD's/AMV's?
Post by: Vent the North on January 12, 2010, 12:08:26 pm
The effects that the people who made these put on the video's are just amazing, the music fits perfectly with the video, and everything fits together perfectly.  These are some of the best MAD's I have ever come across.

Those were very cool indeed. I don't know what the anime(s?) that were used, but the editor did a great job with syncing the music and the visuals. Someday, sometime, I'll try making my own AMVs and those videos you showed will be my standards.

So, I assume that it's okay for us others to post oyr favourites as well? Then, here goes...

A classic. Made of Win.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiKvrz_WGGE

In great contrast with the last video, this one's a serious AMV, and how! It doesn't rely on epileptic special effects or anything, just well-timed clip editing. And the result is stunning.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHZqxecCukg

... Okay, sure, this one isn't that great. The song could have been synced better, more clips could have been used, the editing isn't top-notch... But somehow It still manages to be a magnificent video. And frankly, I'm glad that there even IS a fandom for this franchise. The Leijiverse for the win!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIZGN6qVQ0w

Also from the Leijiverse, but with better editing. Some of the lyrics are off, but I don't care.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV0AvMHV3sI

How about some NIPPON PON?

I actually never finished ga-rei zero since I was mad that it lacked kensuke, who is just freaking godly.

Ah, Kensuke!. The main character of the manga... I'm starting to read it. Garei: zero is kinda a precuel.

My second favourite: Hellsing + Vater Unser.  The song fits perfectly with the series!

Yea, he is the main character of the manga. Zero is kind of a prequal, but at the same time it happens to contradict parts the manga canon, which is the other reason I was turned off by it.

Here is a amv that I personally made. Its based off of the Mahou Sensei negima  magic world OAV's. Its not extreamly amazing or anything, But I think I did alright considering it was my first amv.

All these videos are excellent, thanks for sharing them!

I really like this one, partly because the more anime I watch, the more I appreciate it -- and also, because the song is pretty special, too.  One day, I hope to recognize every anime character introduced!

I dont really have that many things to suggest you. I have only ever made 1 AMV myself, and it wasn't even that great. Though with alot of luck I got the video and the music to sinc up pretty well.

I just used windows movie maker, and added a bunch of cool scenes together, and tried to make the music fit together with the actions that are taking place in the movie.

Good luck on making a AMV though.

Personally, I use Adobe Premiere for all of my movie making needs.

Like all Adobe software, there's definitely a learning curve to it, but once you get past that it's very powerful software.

-----------------------------

I'm kinda surprised no one has posted this AMV yet.

One of my favorite AMV's is from Cowboy Bebop to Weezer's "Only in Dreams".

It completely revolutionized the way I hear and interpret the song.

Here it is, enjoy!

Okay gupita, I generally can't stand slash, but that AMV is awesome! Thanks for the fun post. Also Lin, you posted "the Spirit Never Dies" you have made this thread epic. Viewing that AMV was practically a requirement to join my old college fan club.

Interesting topic, everything you suggested was really interesting. Here you are an AMV about Naruto pretty famous, I don't know how to add it the way you did.

This is, instead, a really old AMV of Hunter X Hunter, but I still believed it to be one of the best:

That is an excellent video -- one of my favorites.  Here's another one by the same GS which is also extremely excellent -- and the reason why I watch One Piece!  ;D

Nobody's gonna care, but here we go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-brBPK9s1P0

A fanmade Shugo Chara trailer that made the series extremely dark and epic. Think later Harry Potter movies or perhaps Narnia. Not that it didn't contain dark themes and wasn't epic ~in it's own way~ already ("GLITTERING PARTICLES!" *sparkle attack*), but this AMV maker really cranked it up to eleven. In fact, the line between what's a serious work and a parody becomes really blurred here... :-X Ah, but enjoy it anyway~

THIS! A Hetalia version of Black Lagoon with the song Broken Glass Syndrome by Halifax. It's dark, it's violent, it's definitely not your ordinary happy-sunny Hetalia MAD, and it's just so epic.
