Getbackers Manga Scans

I thought I should tell you everyone this: http://animeaddictproject.maxforum.org/ (http://animeaddictproject.maxforum.org/) decide to do the last volume of GB. Therefore we won't be doing the last volume...no point of doing if someone else releasing it! So if you want to check out the last volume (only first chapter is out), please sign up on their forum and download it!

And remember no one own the rights to manga....so no group has personally right to scan the series alone. Personally I think it makes my life easier!! Bwhaaha, less work for me!!

Well, I won't go to their release page before you guys have caught up and are done with volume 38, so... tah! 8)

On a second note; what is the point of scanlating only the last volume of a manga? I can understand if you guys had dropped GB and they decided to pick it up where you left off, but just the finale? Sure, the readers (who don't fear spoilers) will know how everything wraps up and all, but what about getting there? Why miss out on the intense story-telling and the way superb way the plot builds up confrontations of epic and emotional heights? Walking along the road towards your goal is just as much fun as finaly reaching the goal itself... but that's just me though! ;)

I also think how it's going to be if the chapters are uploaded on, say, MangaFox. It'll be frustrating as hell for readers to see that the final chapters are up, but not what happens in-between those and OUR scanlation team's releases. Or if they accidentally spoil themselves because when you read on MangaFox, as it just jumps to the next chapter. Imagine if you're in the middle of an epic battle and you're wondering just what's going to happen... and then you suddenly see, I don't know, Ban and Ginji drinking coffee at the Honky Tonk and talking about what they have gone through, you're going to feel horribly cheated. I have some friends who read Get Backers online on said site, and I don't want them to be spoiled about the ending. :-\ And I don't want to be spoiled either! >:(

People seem somehow desperate to see the end without enjoying the journey that it takes to get to it.  I'm one who seeks spoilers on purpose, but not necessarily detailed ones -- and when I did, I did it iin order, so I at least had the timeline right!   :D  Even so I completely agree with you, Louvux, that it's going to mess things up royally for those who will inadvertently read it somewhere, particularly at Mangafox, and regret being spoiled.  At least, having looked at the forum, they do pretty much make it clear you are reading it at the risk of your own spoiling, so for those who go to the forum, at least, they'll have it on their own heads!

Speaking of which, I just might go take a look and see what the rules of this new forum are for downloading...  I'm already spoiled on the last chapter, so I might just go ahead and follow it.  Me being an odd sort of person, it will actually increase my enjoyment of the in between parts that we get from our own trusty scanlators!   ;D

I know is less work for you, but I fill kind of sad. I haven't and I won't read the volume released by this group until we have reached volume 38, so I can't say this for sure since I don't know them, but what if the translations suck? I don't speak japonese, so I can't actually translate it, but even I can tell when what one character says should have been put on a different way. For example, a few days ago a brazilian group released Soul eater chapter 77 and I was really happy, I could read soul eater earilir and in my native language. But when I started it felt just wrong, there were curse words on every inch of the character bubbles. I don't really mind curse words, I am not a priest, but there is a limit you know. Another example is when they ended up changing the character personality, let's say one character speaks in really old and formal way and they translated it to an everyday way of speaking.

Sorry for the text wall, but since it was all related I couldn't just put some space in it. Also, I tried to be the most clear as possible, but I am not very sure it worked out, ashhahas. Anyway, it's good that your work has lessened, but I can't help to feel sad to not have the last, a really special volume, done by our trusty and hardworking group.

Oh yes that's our group picking up the last of the series, sorry about that!
It's really spoiled- we have to admit- that's why we made so many warnings for the readers as well.
My group made it almost impossible for readers to get the release anyways and we have set up warnings for them about it. To make it clear, we have decided long ago not to upload it on MF (We knew all along the followers of every chapters wouldn't like it) since I'm the only one allowed to. It's on our rules that after chapter 1, chapter 2 and the rest of the chapters shall be up to the admin to decide whether to give it to readers or not. (Actually, I just want to put the raw and translation available on the net together for myself but decided to share it anyways). Of course, no one is forced to read the last chapters. (and you won't see us plugging it around except on bakaupdates)

There is still a bit of hard work from us! Its ok if its not appreciated but  please don't condemn it. >.<

Ah, sorry I didn't know about that, but I wasn't saying that even if you translated it would be bad, just saying that some times there are groups that don't do really a good job, or maybe I should say a job to my liking (is this expression correct?). So when I find a good group I like to read it the entire serie from it. Does this group (I was saying our, but it felt like I was doing all the hard work too, when I am just a happy reader) get the translations on the net too?

I wondered if it was you -- I thought I recognized the name over there.   :D  Once I signed up, I realized that you were probably not going to be posting the final volume willy-nilly, since you had put a lot of safeguards in place.  That's good!

Anyway, since I've already seen the web translation and the raws, I went ahead and signed up at your forum.  I enjoyed the first chapter muchly!

I shall keep my lips sealed, however, because as much I like spoilers myself, I am also avid at protecting others rights to not be spoiled!   ;D

I recognize you as well! :D We are really taking every possible precautions to not let spoilers out for those who do not want it! We respect everyone who is still in the midst of reading and it would really suck if suddenly they found themselves informed about the ending >.< My lips are sealed as well. I hope the other fans who have read it shall do the same^^

I actually think this is a good thing, since this means that the series will get finished faster. We don't own rights to scanning this series, so if someone else wants to scan it that's fine, I just hope that they don't start doing the same volumes that we are doing, since I don't want to have to make our groups compete to see who can get scans out faster lol. But it's good to know that there are other people out there who like the manga enough to start scanning it.

Naw, it's cool, man. The series has been out so long it's kind of amazing that we seem to be the only ones working on it anymore. Vaya con dios  ;)

I was planning on not starting on GB manga again until the last volume was out. Then I saw that it was complete and started again, only to be left off in a cliffhanger =/.

yeah, there is a group that did last volume, I found that strage and asked them but they said they are to busy to take  over the serie and so they only did last volume.

I can't find anything involving Get Backers on that site o_O

They are really translate it or they really finish the vol.?! because I don´t see much movement in the page and I don´t want lose the last vol.... It´'s make me sad that you will not translated it to the end, I understand your position, but after all that hard work that you did since vol 28. all you deserve translate until the end because you choose the hard path!... !COME ON¡ all you translate almost 10 vol. and then appear someone who only translate one, THE MOST IMPORTANT!!!... I value that effort but it´s not fair for all the team from GBMscans... Just my opinion :-[

It's up to the team in the end, but I believe they are considering doing this.  We'll know once volume 38 is complete!   ;)

Their website is kinda messy

I dont think their forums are active anymore... and they did not give the download links unless you sent them a priviate message... Is there any other way to get the last volume? Do any of you guys have it?

The last volume is currently being translated by our group.  Two chapters are out so far; the third will probably be coming in another week or so.
