Title: Where I Get My Daily Dose of Anime
Post by: somehow_here on January 14, 2010, 10:33:08 am
For people, whom have difficulty in finding anime! Here are some my favorite sites that I visit to get my daily dose of anime:

  • Downloading site:
(1)  http://darling.arsarcanum.com/ (http://darling.arsarcanum.com/) -  for downloading the newest series (host links only)
(2) http://www.fansub.tv/ (http://www.fansub.tv/) - for downloading java/direct links ( Java allows resuming feature) and bittorent links (for those with slow connection)
(3) http://www.ani-haven.net/ (http://www.ani-haven.net/) - downloading real media files on host links (for those with slow connection)
(4) http://www.animea.net/-  (http://www.animea.net/-)for downloading old series that cannot be found easy (host links only)

  • Watching Online: (Both do not use Megavideo, so you don't have to wait for next day!)
(1) http://www.animefreak.tv/ - comes with dub/sub (both or either) and usually other languages
(2) http://www.hulu.com/ - comes with other drama shows and shows only more recent episodes of popular anime series (has commercial)

None of site that I mention requires you to join! Now enjoy!

I generally watch anime online and i use http://www.animefreak.tv/  also  but  i generally tend to read more manga than i would watch anime, and for reading manga the main site i use is http://www.mangafox.com/ i find it the best out of the few i have tried.

Great thread!

I'll recommend two gems as well:

http://www.bakabt.com/ - Bittorent site. Has TONS of completed series as well as "Related torrents", so if you look up one season of a show you're almost guaranteed to have a link next to it that leads you the second season and so on. A treasure chest!

http://www.nyaatorrents.org/ Another bittorrent site. Good place if you want to find separate episodes (like if you're following a weekly series) or raws.

Thanks! I thought it would be good idea to compile a list as to where  anime can be found, whether it was downloading it or just watching online. I just prefer to download rather than watching online, because I hate waiting for buffer to fill, especially at important moment!  I usually prefer to download from host server, even though it is longer wait. When I do download by torrent I usehttp://www.baka-updates.com/ (http://www.baka-updates.com/).   I did try http://www.nyaatorrents.org/  (http://www.nyaatorrents.org/). It was pretty good, but I prefer to use http://www.baka-updates.com/ (http://www.baka-updates.com/). It has more collection and keeps nicer looking record. As for http://www.bakabt.com/  (http://www.bakabt.com/), I never heard of it. I give out a try! Maybe I like it!

As for Rodlyn, I do like manga a lot more anime these days! Manga usually has less filler and more mature than anime counterparts. Anyway, I usually download prefer to download them also! Mangafox and Onemanga are really popular as online reader. However lately, I find them lacking so I switch over to http://www.mangatoshokan.com/ (http://www.mangatoshokan.com/). It has a lot more options. It allows to bookmark pages and read by scanlators, not to mention it offer variety of scans from different group. Please check it out! It doesn't have as much as two online manga reader, but I think it is pretty good!

Thanks!  :D I know that anime is difficult to find. When, I first began I usually find sites that require you to  sign or pay for. Most of the time, these sites  that I found were used for watching online with Megavideo, which we know is limited to amount of minutes by day.  I thought it would nice if someone had provide me sites in beginning! As for now, I know plenty of sites, but the ones I mentions are ones I prefer to use. None requires to sign in or pay, but there are benefits for signing with website.

If you use a router for internet (it might work for other forms of internet too) turn it off and then on again.
This should allow you to watch another day's worth of megavideo :)

I didn't think about that! Thanks! I do that later!

As for Rodlyn,  you were lucky! I am so jealous! Most of downloading of anime is done by me!

I usually get all of my anime on this website. http://hsbsitez.com/

This is where I get much of what I watch, as well.  It's a great site, because it includes some of the older hard-to-find series!

www.animea.net is good for finding older series, too.

I have found http://www.anime-ds.com/ very reliable for downloads, particularly of current-running series -- but it is also adding some of the older completed series now.  You have to sign up to be able to download, but it's free to do so with no other obligations attached.

Usually I don't watch so many anime and when I do I just make a short research on google and usually there's always something usefull that comes out; I used to download anime (and manga) from http://www.anime-eden.com/ but recently I've started to prefer just watching them on streaming so I've switched to http://www.watchanimeon.com/ . I've no idea if they have lots of titles, at least those I want are available! =)

For Detective Conan go here (http://forums.dctp.ws/index.php?topic=710.msg10304#msg10304), it deserves a separate link since it's over 570 episodes.

http://hsbsitez.com/ - the best anime searcher there is, basically you won't need anything else

http://anime-stop.webs.com/ - really good site, serves everything via Mega Upload but if you've had JDownloader (http://jdownloader.org/download) you would would consider it as a merit.

http://saiei.edwardk.info/ - raws of really good and old anime (World Masterpiece Theater mainly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Masterpiece_Theater) but not only)

http://anime.thehylia.com

http://www.lolipower.org/ - it is one of the best sites, offers many anime (for example Legend of The Galactic Heroes which is one of the best anime ever created) and is recommended for newest releases

http://www.animetake.com/ - for new anime mainly but it's very good and offers new episodes the moment they're served somewhere

There are also many forums that have links to many anime (for example http://www.animea.net/forums - animea net offers many titles for premium members only but on forums there are many alternative links).

On irc you should go to rizon server and go to #news or #nibl channel.

Animedreaming - http://www.animedreaming.com/ (http://www.animedreaming.com/) pretty good quality anime streaming

Instantz - http://www.instantz.net/ (http://www.instantz.net/) alternative source for me

I use animemedia as well but some of their links don't work so i just hop around this few sites...

Thanks for the other recommended sites! ;D I will check them out sometime...

Useful thread! I usually download anime on http://www.cyber12.com/, too, since it has megaupload links so you can download at full speed, specially with premium account^^
Even www.bleachexile.com has a big animelist to download, I use it sometimes but I prefer cyber12

Title: List of Anime Sites
Post by: Kaira on June 29, 2010, 04:36:11 am
I know this is a very common thread, but I loved the respective thread in the General Manga Discussion  ;D!

Where do you usually download your animes? Please post your recommendations here. Just Infos sites are welcome, too.

Here is my list:

AnimeEDEN (http://www.anime-eden.com/) (found some rare mangas there)
Aarinfantasy (http://aarinfantasy.com/) (Mostly Yaoi, but also some nice non-yaoi stuff, but browsing is difficult and complicated, you really have to be patient!)
AnimeA (http://www.animea.net/) (they don't host licensed animes)
Anime-Kraze (http://www.anime-kraze.org/) (not much experiences with this)
BleachExile (http://www.bleachexile.com/) (not only Bleach)
Info site: AniDB (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=main)
IRC: #anime-4ever@irc.immortal-anime.net (I haven't tried out this one, just got it as a recommendation. Does anybody know this channel? How is it stocked?)

Does anybody have any recommendations for other IRC channels for dling anime?

Hope to hear from you :)!

hugs,
Kaira

Post by: Lin on June 29, 2010, 08:57:45 am
I'm really nervous about IRC for some reason -- while I'm not shy on a message board, I feel really shy about attempting to make contact on IRC!

I like AnimeA as well, and AniDB is great for information.  My favorite info site is the encyclopedia at AnimeNewsNetwork at http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/ -- I'm big on voice actors and I love looking up who voices which character, among other things.

I have some sites I like for downloading anime.  Some of them require you to register in order to download, but I haven't found that to be a problem with any of them which require it!

Anime-DS at http://www.anime-ds.com/ -- this is my favorite one, very reliable, offering DDL from megaupload

Animebreaker -- http://animebreaker.com/ -- some antivirus programs don't like this site for some reason, though I've had little trouble with it!

Animecrazy at http://www.animecrazy.net/ -- this one is good for streaming, and also has downloads, though not always the highest quality versions of an episode.

Animetake at http://www.animetake.com/ -- this one offers both DDL and torrent, and is fairly quick about updating.

Anivoid at http://www.anivoid.com/index.php -- this one limits you to 5 downloads in 24 hours, but that's not too burdensome.

Nihonomaru at http://forum.nihonomaru.com/ -- you can't see the links without registering on this one; I've found it to be good for locating older anime, but searching is sometimes difficult

Hsbsitz at http://hsbsitez.com/files/newest -- I like this one, especially for finding older anime, but sometimes the links are broken, and once I got a trojan from something I was downloading.  Guess that can happen anywhere, but I thought I'd mention it!

Seedchan at http://seedchan.net/ -- I just discovered this one, and I'm liking it so far.  It only offers torrents, but it seems to be quite quick at getting things up, and offers RAWs as well as non-English fansubs (which I like to try out now and then if I know the language!)

As you can see, I am a habitual downloader of anime!   I check these sites daily, lol!  ;D

Title: Re: List of Anime Sites
Post by: Kaira on June 29, 2010, 09:27:19 am
Awww...thanks a lot, Lin, for your great recommendations. I don't know most of your sites! I'll try them out asap:). Okay, I know ANN and Nihonomaru, sorry, i forgot to mention them in my list.

Nihonomaru seems to be not so well stocked, right. I mean for anime and OST. But they have 2 good recommendations for dling OST which I mainly use. The guys from Nihonomaru upload practically everything they can get their hands on  ;).

I'm very interested in Anime-DS because of MegaUpload links. Files on MU seem to be hosted forever and hardly ever expire and it's fast! But once I caught a virus from MU, so be careful. I was told this happens more often with MU than with other hosts like 4shared, don't know, if this is correct.

I know what you mean about dling from IRC, one wrong command or sentence and it can get very embarrassing, happened to me a few times >.< (once I got booted from #lurk because of a false command and I couldn't enter for about 20 or 30min)...I don't like to chat there (i'm simply to slow and shy @.@), just dl. And I prefer channels which have bot lists, where you just can search for your manga and copy/paste the command,so no false commands anymore =D.

These are some great sites. I knew about most of them. I will be checking out the ones I hadn't heard of before.

Just out of curiosity... Does anyone know what happened to Anime Eden? I haven't been able to get into for a couple of weeks now. I use it when I check out some of the older series. I can direct download the first episode to see if I like it before committing the space and bandwidth to download the whole series on bit torrent.

I'm not sure if you guys can find it helpfull but i know a couple of sites with lots of anime in spanish (I'm from Uruguay, so...): mcanime.net has a HUGE amount of manga and anime, it's the largest site I know. There's also another site, gratispeliculas.org, but it also has a lot of porn and pirate movies so I'm not puting any direct link (not that I know how anyway, hehe ;)). I know you have rules against piracy, but there aren't many places with anime subbed in spanish so please don't ban me for this, please? :-X

Title: Re: List of Anime Sites

I always download from animestash.info, the reason being that their anime files is the smallest I can find, it is really good for saving space in your hard drive. plus they have lots of anime to choose from. however, because they need to encode the files to make them smaller, they will be a bit slow on updating ongoing anime. also, when search for anime using the search box, the name of the anime that you type have to be exactly similar to how they spell it, a slight misspell will cause your result to be nothing.....ermmm...why do I feel lile I'm confusing you (e.g when searching for "kyou kara maou", just type the word "kara" and you'll find it. but if you spell it "kyo kara maoh" or something like that,  it will say that their database don't have such anime.)
